Facebook

Personally I do have a Facebook account and there are pro's to having one. One pro would be the fact that Facebook really can help you stay in touch with people you lost contact with but you want to see again. Another pro would be you really can make new friends safely if you know what you are doing and who you are talking to or the fact that it's a good way to express yourself without going crazy. Unfortunately every social media site does have its cons. What you post on the internet really is permanent so be careful what you say. Nothing is "personal" when it comes to being online, even if you think you are just talking to a couple people. You could lose a job for just saying what you feel. In the Facebook video we watched an older lady lost her job for saying her opinion about someone else, even though it was her account and her opinion.

 I think Facebook is fine in moderation but everyone should have a life outside of it and another way to express yourself.

Edulaunch

In this photo "Light saber" a photo was taken of a guy holding a broom stick(most of the kids in my class had a photo of themselves but I was gone the day we took those photos.) I used photo shop to edit it. The first thing I did was I used the pen tool to select the broom stick and change it from brown to white. Then I used to lasso tool to select the now white broom stick. Using color and balance I gave it a purple glow. Then I used the lasso tool again to select part of his hand and pant to give them the purple tint from the light saber.

This photo is called "My landscape." In this photo I took a blank white photo and used the brush tool, stamp tool,  and the pen tool. I used the pen tool to draw the outline of the island, then I changed the foreground color to a sandy brown and used the paint bucket to fill in the island. Then I changed the foreground color to a blue for the water and a dark blue for the night sky. Then I used the stamp tool for my stars in the sky.

This photo is called "Johnny's landscape." This was the first of all three photos that I made. This photo was the most Challenging because this is where I had to learn to use all the tools that I would then go on to use in the photos above. I feel like this photo was defiantly the hardest but it was worth it because now I know more Photo shop skills!

Goamine

My latest project was done on Goamine.com. I made a scene from Madagascar 2 the movie. This is the scene where Melman tells Gloria, or tries to tell her, how he feels about her. Gloria though has more important things on her mind and does not want to talk to Melman right now; Gloria would rather go on her date with Moto Moto.

This master piece was done on Pic monkey.com. I went to special effects and changed the color of my skin with Coven complexion. Then I gave myself tooth decay and hag eyes all for the fun of Halloween. I added a witch hat for the full effect and to spice up the scene a spider web layered with a spider pet. 

In this project I used photo shop to edit one of my senior pictures and make myself an alien. I used color replacement to turn my skin and hair an alien green color. I also used the duplication stamp to give myself multiple eyes. I added my name in the lower right hand corner with the text application also in photo shop. I thought this project was a lot of fun but I hope I don't turn into an alien anytime soon.

Photo Story

This week we have been using photo story to create something like a power point for the place of our choice. I chose to do New York because I would really like to go to New York one day, I think it is an interesting place. I also incorporated photo shop into my photo story by adding text to a couple of the slides, brightening the color of the slides that needed it, turning some slides black and white and also making the pictures look clearer. I think that photo story is useful; but I also think Microsoft power point does all of the same things in a more user friendly way and you can add notes along with text to the slides.

Photo Shop

In this photo I cut out one clown fish using the magnetic lasso and then duplicated it. I also used magic wand to cut out a sting ray, and then I used image sizing to re-size it. For the other sting ray I used the quick selection tool and left it the same size, then I changed its opacity to 73% to give it an under water look. I also  cut out two brighter fish using the magnetic lasso, re-sized them, and changed their opacity in order to make them look farther away. Next I again used the magic wand tool to cut a tiger shark out of a picture and move it into my photo. Then I changed its opacity, size and rotation in order to make it look like its coming towards me instead of away.

Book review:
This book is a children's book aimed at ages 2-5. This book is about a boy named Johnny and his best friend and dog Rover. Johnny just wanted to play with Rover but then Rover runs away and poor Johnny is left alone in the yard. Find out what why Rover runs away and what happens next in this wonderful children's book that teaches a lesson called: Bye Bye Rover.

I think that this project was a lot of fun! my favorite picture was...

                                                                           because i love the colors in the door.
Working with people in the class that I didn't know very well was actually a lot of fun once we all got comfortable. I learned about many different design elements. My favorite element was gradation because I found that it was very interesting and I didn't know it was an element.

In class today we made comics!! it was a lot of fun, but i was a little stumped on what to make mine about.

I named my magazine Life Magazine because these are all things that effect my life here at West. I wrote Senioritis and the new year on my magazine because I am a senior and I can already feel Senioritis coming on. I wrote about our softball team here at West because I play softball and I played two years here. Last but not least I wrote about the biotechnology program and its research projects because I am in biotechnology and I am really interested in the project i am working on this year.

Fun with Photofunia

I like the picture of me in the picture frame in orange the best because I think the orange adds a little bit of needed color to a cute frame.

Wordle and Tagxedo uses

Wordle and Tagxedo could be used for many different things. You could use them for advertisement purposes. If you are trying to sell something or make something known. You could even use them for supporting a team, an event or a clothing design.

I really have enjoyed using Prezi and watching those presentations. I think that this class is going to be very interesting.
